T19 the Tigress was resting in a small waterhole. She is a gorgeous Tigress, daughter of Machali Jr. and she was having her third litter, when I captured her in Zone 4 of the park on one fine morning in March 2018. She had been elusive the entire morning, her presence only heralded by the frenetic alarm calls. She was on the move, possibly marking her territory the entire morning. When we finally saw her approaching us between the few Date Palms, the early summer sun was cranking up the heat. She approached the watering hole and got in to cool herself. As we were the only vehicle, we positioned ourselves to capture her face just as she plonked herself in the water. I captured this moment when she finished drinking and lifted her head, and stared into the barrel of my lens.
