Passion

Hi I’m Dr. Karthik Ganesan. And for the purpose of this website, and in case we meet to discuss all things photography or nature, just Karthik.

Those who know me well, family and my friends, always say that passion, extreme focus and eventual mastery of every subject that I choose to delve into, drive and define me.

This aim for perfection and unwavering concentration enables me to stay on top of my field, whether helping humans as a radiologist, or whilst capturing the essence of the bountiful life all around as an avid photographer and naturalist.

Photography is something I picked up as a hobby, miles away from my daily endeavours. My unfazed nature, resoluteness against all odds, and ability to go beyond has, over the years, helped me in observing and capturing the beauty of nature in all its splendor, and in turn, has become an almost equally consuming passion.

Now it has become, what I like to call work / wild-life balance for me.

The time away from it all naturally helps me refocus and get the mojo back. Over the years, from understanding light and shadows, and of course the equipment, my view has expanded and the horizons widened.

Now, it is not only about a specific vision that I want captured, or a mood that I want frozen to be appreciated later, but I have observed myself how I have become conscious of the creatures in nature, big and small, their need for space, the park wardens, and numerous staff some of whom I have come to know well, along with the surrounding communities, whose lives are tied to the fortunes of the park itself. They say the camera brings you closer to nature, more than what the eye ever could. The telephoto though eventually fills the frame and the mind with compassion for all things living.
